Method for transmitting narrow-band data in a digital broadband channel

In a broadband transmission method which provides that in the case of bits having the significance 1, the signal level in each case changes compared with the last occurrence of a 1 and the bits having the significance 0 exhibit a signal change in the centre of the bit period, a deliberate code violation is produced in the transmission of a bit of narrow-band data. Thus, when a bit of the broadband data is transmitted, a bit with a significance 1 is sent at the same level as the previous bit of the same type and with a bit having the significance 0, the signal change in the centre of the bit period is reversed. These code violations are detected at the receiving end and extracted as narrow-band data.
