PURPOSE:To realize printing of high image quality with a short sheet carrier path length by evading a 1st transfer part and carrying a sheet in case of one- sided printing and inverting the sheet after transferring in the 1st transfer part and transferring in a 2nd transfer part in case of both-sided printing. CONSTITUTION:A latent image is formed on an image transfer member 13 with a laser light beam 20 and a toner image is formed there by a developing machine 14. In case of one-sided printing the sheet 18 is carried by evading the 1st transfer part 4 so as to execute the transfer in the 2nd transfer part 9. In case of both-sided printing, the transfer is executed in the transfer part 4 and the transfer part 9. And it is fixed by a fixing roller 10. Now, in case of both-sided printing, the sheet 18 is inverted by a 2nd gate 17 which rotates centering around 0 point provided between the transfer part 4 and the transfer part 9 so as to switch the carrier path. Thus, the one-sided printing and the both-sided printing can be realized in a compact mechanism and also reliable high speed printing of high image quality can be executed. |
