The invention relates to a centrifugal speed governor for injection-type internal combustion engines which is suitable only for controlling injection pumps in diesel engines. With the initial object of the invention being to create a governor having a small overall size and mass and a relatively simple design, the problem is to create a centrifugal speed governor which, despite the low mass of the centrifugal weights and the consequent flexibility of the control springs, achieves a functionally reliable control behaviour, particularly reliable maintenance of the zero-delivery quantity during propulsive operation and also when the engine is shut off. According to the invention the problem is solved because a throw-off lever is set by means of the operating lever in the zero-delivery position of this lever against the lever linkage in the zero-quantity direction, the main control spring being relieved by means of the operating lever for the lever linkage. <IMAGE>
