An electrical push-button switch is proposed which is composed essentially of a housing, an operating element arranged displaceably in a straight line in the housing, a multidimensional link provided on the housing, a finger which on the one hand engages in the link and on the other hand is assigned to the operating element via a sliding piece, and the electrical contact parts. Such an electrical push-button switch is subject to the technical problem of implementing a design such that it is impossible for the multidimensional link and the finger which engages in the link to be overstressed. This is achieved in that a spring means is assigned to one of the two structural elements (link or finger) in such a manner that it is held such that it can deflect in the event of overstressing in the operating direction of the operating element, the response movement of the spring means being as short as possible. <IMAGE>
