<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to feed from more than one cassettes or to detect abnormality such as paper jamming by employing a signal sending-receiving means for exchanging signals between an image forming devices. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed signal of a paper sheet P in an upper cassette 26 of a multi-cassette feeder 2 is sent out to a control section via an interface signal cable and a signal exchange section. The control section sends out a detection signal of the size of the paper sheet P in the upper cassette 26 detected with a paper size detecting means 63', a detection signal of the presence of the paper sheet P detected with a paper sheet detection means 61, a detection signal of the presence of the upper cassette 26 detected with a cassette detection means 60, and a signal of the open/close condition of a door 80 detected with a door detection means 86 to a laser printer. If all of the signals are determined to be normal, a paper feed motor is started to rotate and the paper sheet in the cassette 26 is taken out.</p> |
