<p>An apparatus and method is disclosed which provides a measure of the size distribution of particles dispersed in a fluid based upon an optimum combination of CLS measurements and DLS measurements. The apparatus includes a light source (18) providing a light beam (20) which is focused by a lens (16) on the sample (12). Scattered light is sensed by a light detector (28). The measurement is characterized by relatively high resolution particle sizing. DLS data is optimally combined with CLS data, and either a size distribution or a histogram may represent distributions weighted by mass, volume, number, surface area, or other measures.</p> |
