Method for producing a canal post which is provided with a rotationally symmetrical head, with formation of a canal post model consisting of a post section, a head section and, where appropriate, a cap section, pouring up the canal post model and polishing the head of the canal post formed by pouring up, with moulding of the canal post model using a moulded part provided on the side of the head section which is remote from the post section with a shaft section which is coaxial with the head section, clamping the shaft of the canal post formed by pouring up in a lathe, drilling machine or the like, polishing the head of the canal post during operation of the lathe, drilling machine or the like, and cutting off the shaft after polishing, and a moulded part for carrying out this process.
