PURPOSE:To make the maintenance control easy, by detecting a trouble of the engine by use of a check program stored in the microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:Flags of the number of bits corresponding to the number of check items for the diagnosis of a trouble are provided to the RAM in the air fuel ratio control unit. The air fuel ratio control unit performs the control according to a data of the ROM50, being based on the crank angle sensor 22 and the pressure sensor 19. When activation of a check program has been requested, the check operation of each part is started after all the flags in the RAM have been initialized. In case when there is not failure, the flag is set (to ''H'' level), and in case when there is a trouble, it is made to remain as it is. In this way, the result which has been decided is informed by a report pattern which has been decided by making it correspond to a check code of the flag. |
