PURPOSE:To obtain a casting mold which permits immediate rapping when blown with hot wind having no toxity and has an excellent collapsing property by consisting a binder material for the casting mold of a phenolic resin, water, alkali metal hydroxide, epoxy resin, etc. and curing the material by the hot wind. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold material consisting of a) a phenolic resin, b) water, c) an alkali metal hydroxide, d) an epoxy resin, and if necessary, an alcohol is added and mixed to and with a refractory material. When the hot wind produced by heating air to 50-500 deg.C is blown to such material, the moisture in the binder material is removed and the binder is thickened and solidified; therefore, the immediate rapping is made possible. When the casting mold is further allowed to rest, the catalytic effect of the component (c) is presumed to contribute to a progress in the curing reaction of the phenolic hydroxyl group in the component (a) and the epoxy group in the component (d) and the strength of the casting mold under high humidity is improved. |
