<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the vibration and deformation of an intermediate shaft by constituting the intermediate shaft for transmitting a steering signal, from a protecting pipe and the transmission shaft arranged inside the protecting pipe and elastically supporting the protecting pipe onto a car body through an elastic member. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate shaft 40 is constituted of a protecting pipe 46 and a real transmission shaft 42 which is made of metal and concentrically arranged inside the protecting pipe 46. In order to suppress the influence of the elastic deformation of a car body, the intermediate shaft 40 is divided into three parts, and in this divided part, the transmission shafts are connected through a universal joint, and the protecting pipes are connected by an expandable boot 48A. The protecting pipe 46 is elastically supported onto a floor panel 41 through a supporting metal fitting 62A, and even if the car body is elastically deformed so as to be twisted in the traveling on a bad road, the intermediate shaft is protected from the influence.</p> |
