PURPOSE:To form a major portion of microcapsules with relatively small particle sizes by producing photosensitive microcapsules by forming external shell comprising amino-aldehyde resin in the presence of protective colloid consisting of a specified mixture. CONSTITUTION:Microcapsules are produced by forming external shells comprising amino-aldehyde resin on the periphery of a core material contg. silver halide and a polymerizable compd. in the presence of a protective colloid. Said protective colloid consists of a mixture contg. gelatin and styrene sulfonic acid type polymer. The ratio of gelatin to the styrene sulfonic acid type polymer is 1:100-20:100, pref. 1:100-10:100 by weight. Said styrene sulfonic acid type polymer may be a free acid type or may form a salt in a part or whole of a molecule. Typical salt is Na salt, K salt, or ammonium salt. |
