In order to achieve a high efficiency in a heat exchanger equipped with flat heat stores (4) arranged one above another, provision is made in the interspaces between mutually adjacent heat stores (4) of profiled plates (6) which are intended to deflect flow in radial directions and form on their two sides crisscrossing flow ducts (10, 11; 12, 13) which are connected only in the centre of the profiled plates (6) via an opening (14) therein.
