PURPOSE:To clean automatically the dust attached to a magnetic head by using a magnetic head cleaner having such a constitution in that the light emitted from a light source is irradiated to a mirror that is turned by a driving part and the turning position of the mirror is detected by an optical detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A case 13 is inserted into its loading part, and a driving roll 6 is driven. Thus a roll 27 is revolved to revolve a pulley 28, and a worm gear 26 is revolved via a revolving speed converting mechanism 29. A lever 23 oscillates with revolutions of an eccentric shaft 25, and therefore a cleaning member 15 starts cleaning the surface of a magnetic head 5. Therefore a mirror 14a detects the light of a light source lamp 16 at its home position. The mirror 14a starts its revolution at its home position and then returns to this position after a turn to detect again the light of the lamp 16. This detection signal stops the revolution of the roll 6. The conversion ratio of the mechanism 29 is set so that one turn of the mirror 14a is equal to the time during which the member 15 can remove the soil on the surface of the head 5. |
