A method for the determination of a very low concentration component in a test gas which is conveyed, for the purpose of enriching the component, in a feedline via a sample collector whose enriched amount of sample is delivered to a detecting sensor, should provide a measurement signal even during the sample collection and, in the case of a multicomponent test gas, also make it possible to detect the individual components and to check a component-specific cross-sensitivity of the detecting sensor.
