A transformer or reactor has at least one strip winding 11, 12 which is constructed of several windings of a strip wound on top of each other, which strip comprises a conductor in the form of a metal foil 15 and an insulation in the form of at least one layer of a curved material 16 of a polymer. The metal foil and the insulation, and where applicable layers in the insulation that are in contact with each other, are firmly attached to each other by an adhesive 17, 18. By using as the curved material a material constructed of fibres of an aromatic polyamide, some of which are considerably finer than other fibres and constitute the adhesive agent for the said other fibres and by using as adhesive an aliphatic polyamide, the strip winding can be given exceptional resistance to shorting forces. <IMAGE> |
