PRODUCTION OF INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the stability and reliability of recorded information by irradiating a recording layer of a transparent polymer with ion beams according to information to be recorded so as to form an optically isomerized part. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording layer 1 is made of a transparent polymer, a metal mask 2 having an information pattern consisting of ion beam transmitting and shielding parts is set on the layer 1 and the layer 1 is irradiated with ion beams 3 through the mask 2. Only the irradiated part of the surface layer of the recording layer 1 is carbonized and a light shielding part 4 is formed according to information to be recorded. The part 4 is a carbonized part having a high light absorption factor. Thus, the recording layer is optically isomerized and information is recorded. The recorded information has superior durability and stability and the reliability of the recording layer as an information medium can further be improved.
