<p>The present invention provides a high-speed method and apparatus for processing a plurality of documents (32) that have been preprinted and cut from single sheets of paper (30). Sheets including a plurality of preprinted documents are registered to straighten each sheet, read by a fiber optic scanner (16) to identify each document for a microprocessor, cut into individual documents, collected as individual documents and held until needed as directed by the microprocessor and transferred from the collector to an inserting track (24) for further processing including insertion into an envelope.</p> |
