PURPOSE:To improve the color reproducibility of the titled material by specifying the interrelationship between the silver halide of a image forming layer and that of a DIR layer, thereby enlarging the interimage effect (IIE) of the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The interrelationship between the silver halide AgBr(alpha)Cl(beta)I(gamma) of the image forming layer and the silver halide AgBr(x)Cl(y)I(z) of the DIR layer is specified by the formula (gamma)>(z) or (beta)<(y) wherein (alpha), (beta), (gamma), (x), (y) and (z) are each an integer of 0-1, and (alpha+beta+gamma)=1, (x)+(y)+(z)=1. The silver halide usable for the image forming layer contg. a color forming coupler and a silver halide emulsion is exemplified by silver chlorobromide, silver bromide, silver iodide, silver iodobromide and silver chlorobromide. The DIR layer is composed of a layer contg. a DIR compd. and a photosensitive silver halide emulsion, and is the layer which does not substantially form a color image. And, the DIR compd. is composed of a compd. capable of releasing a development retarder. Thus, the interimage effect and the color reproducibility of the titled material are improved. |
