A compound of the general formula <CHEM> in which X represents a chlorine or bromine atom, R<1> represents a hydrogen atom, a C(1-6) alkyl group, a benzyl group or a phenyl group optionally substituted by a C(1-6) alkyl group, and R<2> represents the group CN or the group COOR<3> in which R<3> represents a C(1-6) alkyl group, a process for the preparation of a compound of formula (I), and the use of a compound of formula (I) in the preparation of a compound of the general formula. <CHEM> in which R<1> is as defined above and R<4> represents an amino group or a hydroxyl group.
