PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the photographic characteristics of a sensitive material due to long-time contact with a poisonous gas during storage by using a polycondensation product obtd. by allowing a glycol lauryl deriv. to react with aldehydes as a polymer formalin scavenger. CONSTITUTION:A polycondensation product obtd. by allowing a glycol lauryl deriv. to react with aldehydes is incorporated into at least one layer on a support. A compd. represented by formula I is preferably used as the polycondensation product. In formula I, each of m and n is an integer of 0-3, m+n<=3, each of R1-R3 is H or 1-6C alkyl, R1-R3 may be different alkyl groups, L is a group represented by formula II and each of R4 and R5 is a group derived from aldehydes, preferably H or methyl. Thus, a silver halide color photographic sensitive material preventing the deterioration of the photographic characteristics such as the lowering of the density of developed color or the gamma, the occurrence of color stain or the increase of fog due to long- time contact with a poisonous gas such as formaldehyde during storage before color development is obtd. |
