PURPOSE: To reduce excavating resistance by providing a plurality of soil-intake openings opened to an earth-pressure chamber at the backface of a cutter disc, while internally touching the circular section of a cylindrical skin plate and providing screw conveyors for discharging soil therein. CONSTITUTION: This shield excavation machine is provided with a skin plate 10, a cutter disc 12 at the front end, and an earth-pressure chamber 14 at the backside. A number of cutter bits 16 are firmly fixed to the front face of the cutter disc 10, to take soil of the natural ground into the earth-pressure chamber 14 through slit holes by a drive motor connected to a rotary shaft 18. Screw conveyors 26 for discharging soil are firmly fixed to the rear end parts 24b of respective intake openings 24, and spiral blades 26b, shafts 26c and large diameter spiral blades 26d are provided therein. The cutter disc 12 is rotated and propulsive jacks 20 are extended to advance while filling excavated soil into the earth-pressure chamber 14. In this way, soil can be easily filled in the earth-pressure chamber even in a large section of a tunnel. |
