Described is a hybridoma cell line expressing a monoclonal antibody recognizing a particular hydrophilic epitope conserved in the viral and human cellular myb protein. It allows the immunocytochemical detection of c-myb protein expression in human tissues or cells or cell lines and the fluorescence activated cell-sorting of c-myb expressing cells and the detection in indirect immunoprecipitation, ELISA and Western-Blots.
