PURPOSE:To improve the electrolyte holding capacity by mixing a potassium titanate fiber in an electrolyte holding material which consists of LiAlO2 powder. CONSTITUTION:A potassium titanate fiber (K2Ti6O13) is mixed in an electrolyte holding material which consists of LiAlO2 powder. In this case, the weight ratio of the electrolyte holding material in the matrix is 40 to 45wt.%, the weight ratio of the electrolyte consisting of molten carbonate is 60 to 55wt.%, and the containing amount of the K2Ti6O13 in the electrolyte holding material is 2 to 50wt.%, preferably 5 to 30wt.%, whose optimum amount may be determinded from its crack preventive ability or electrolyte holding capacity. In such a composition, the generation of cracking at the buildup heating time of the fuel cell can be prevented, the crossover amount can be reduced, and the electrolyte holding capacity can be improved. |
