PURPOSE:To attain automatic recording of the switching connection status by storing a switching time in switching an important optical line and a transmission loss difference before and after the switching. CONSTITUTION:In detecting an optical signal at a switching point PB while a light from an optical injector unit 10 from a switching point PA is made incident, the existing cable 1A is switched at high speed into a newly built cable 3. Thus, the switching time is obtained from the time when the light is interrupted from the disconnection of the existing cable 1A till the new cable connection. In comparing the detection level before and after the switching, the loss difference between before the switching and after the switching is obtained. Thus, various recordings at switching are taken automatically and the result is useful for the maintenance and management. |
