PURPOSE:To produce a superconductor which exhibits superconductivity at above the b.p. of liquid N2 by precalcining a powder mixture of specified three kinds of elements, pulverizing the precalcined product, granulating the pulverized product, compression-molding the granulated product, then calcining the molded body in oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A powder mixture prepd. by mixing powder consisting primarily of at least two kinds of element including Y selected from a group (A1) of elements consisting of Y, Er, Sc, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb and Lu, with powder consisting primarily of at least two kinds of element including Ba selected from a group (A2) of elements consisting of Ba, Ca, and Sr, and powder consisting primarily of at least one kind of element selected from a group (A3) of elements consisting of Cu, Zn, Ni, Co, Fe, Pd, Ag, and Cd, is calcined at below a final calcination temp., then the calcined product is pulverized, and the pulverized product is granulated, and the granulated product is compression-molded, then the molded product is calcined finally at 950-1,200 deg.C in oxidizing atmosphere. Thus, a superconductor consisting of a sintered body having K2NiF4 structure contg. rhombic crystals is obtd. wherein said sintered body consists of A1, A2, A3 and O, and each content of A1, A2, A3 is defined by the inequalities: 10<=A1<=60 atomic %, 20<=A2<=50 atomic %, and 30<=A3<=65 atomic %. |
