PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC HEAD

摘要

PURPOSE:To form a magnetic gap depth with high accuracy at a good yield by detaching only the magnetic head or magnetic head block subjected to polishing from a polishing surface. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of a head slider 1 having the magnetic head H at the end face, a head fixing jig 3 which serves as a reference at the time of polishing the working surface 2 of the head slider and further single- layered or laminated piezo-elements 5 having comb-shaped electrodes 4. The working surface 2 of the head slider 1 is detached from the polishing surface by stopping or starting energization to the comb-shaped electrodes 4 of the piezo-elements 5 of only the magnetic head H for which the end point in working the magnetic gap depth of the magnetic head H is, for example, electrically or optically detected. The working of the magnetic gap depth is thereby ended and the magnetic gap depth is formed with the high accuracy at the good yield.
