PURPOSE:To prevent frictional noise from being generated and enable a device to be operated for a long time, by permitting balls supported by a rotor, to come in contact with a stator. CONSTITUTION:When elliptical motions 13 are generated on the end surface 6a of a stator 6, then balls 9 are rotated in the same direction. On the surface of the balls 9 in contact with a pressure applying unit 10, friction is generated, and the balls 9 without slipping roll on the Surface of A rotor 8. Between the balls 9 and the stator 6, the rotation and movement of the balls 9 coincide with the rotating and moving direction of the elliptical motion 13, and so the rotor 8 is moved in the same direction as the elliptical direction. Accordingly, when the rotational force of the rotor 8 is taken out as power, then the rotor can be used as an ultrasonic driving gear. In this manner, the balls 9 are rotated and moved by the elliptical motion or a progreesive wave generated on the stator 6, and then the rotor 8 is rotated, and so the abrasion of the stator 6, the pressure applying unit 10, and the balls 9 is reduced, and they can be used for a long time. |
