PURPOSE:To prevent production of many small packages in the switchover of spinning descriptions and to make the switchover work easy, by providing each spindle of a spinning machine with a pulse generator, yarn passing detector and sliver feed stopper along with a special controller. CONSTITUTION:Each spindle of a spinning machine is provided with (A) a pulse generator 21, which gives pulse signals in synchronization with winding drum revolution (B) a yarn passing detector 17 which detects whether spun yarn passed or not, and (C) a sliver feed stopper 15 operable independent of other spindles along with (D) an input device 22 which inputs desired production data to a controller 23 under the existing conditions when spinning conditions are changed for switchover of spinning descriptions. The controller 23 operates the quantity the be wound for package at each spindle based on the output signals from the pulse generator 21 and yarn passing detector 17, respectively to calculate the production volume necessary for each spindle followed by giving command signals to the sliver feed stopper 15 for the spindles where the required production volumes have been attained. |
