An apparatus for marking packagings, for example with price codes, content of goods etc. has a gap 13 through which the packagings are introduced in the folded state, before they are set up. The marking is undertaken by means of marking devices 14, which are applied at both sides of the gap. The apparatus can be mounted at or immediately adjacent to a packing station and makes it possible in one simple pass to provide a box-shaped packaging with markings on all four side surfaces 17, 18 and, if necessary, also on the top and bottom surfaces 19, 20. <IMAGE>
