PURPOSE:To provide the title composition having a high rate of crystallization and a high crystallinity, excellent in high-temperature performance, and suitable for food containers, by incorporating a modified olefin polymer into a specific polyester. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition is composed of 100pts.wt. polyester (A) which comprises, as main constituent component, ethylene terephthalate units and has an intrinsic viscosity eta of at least 0.75 or above (when eta is low, the rate of crystallization tends to be high, but because of the low molecular weight a molded product which is fully satisfactory in respect of mechanical properties and thermal properties cannot be obtained), and 0.01-10pts.wt. modified olefin polymer (B) (preferably, an olefin copolymer with 0.1-2mol.% alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative). Since this resin composition has a high rate of crystallization and an extremely high crystallinity, the molding cycle can be increased, and in addition it can be molded in a low-temperature mold, which is different from the ordinary molding which uses polyethylene terephthalate. Further, because of its high crystallinity the composition is excellent in high temperature performance, and can be used as food container which will be used for cooking in a microwave range or oven range. |
