PURPOSE:To prevent generation of residual color due to sensitizing dye during rapid development by treating a silver halide sensitive material with a fixing soln. contg. at least one kind of specified compd. or salt thereof after exposing and developing the silver halide sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:After exposing and developing a silver halide sensitive material, the material is processed with a fixing soln. contg. at least one kind of compd. expressed by formula I or salt thereof. In formula I, A is a group of atoms necessary for forming a satd. or unsatd. 3--8-membered ring contg. essentially at least one among O atom, N atom, S atom, and Se atom; M is an H atom or a counter cation. By this constitution, generation of residual color in accompany with promotion of developing speed is prevented. |
