The invention is a method of localising a source of radiation using a radiation detector (4) in a known field (1). This method can be used for example with a plane's (5) radar warning device to locate radar stations. With this invention, one selects a number of determined locations (A, B) to the position in the space. With the radiation detector one observes how the locations (A, B) are radiated from the radiation source (4). For each location, the field is divided partly into areas of which all points are in the line of sight of the location, the clear sight area (8, 9), and partly into extraneous areas. Assuming that the chosen locations are illuminated, logical operations are used to combine their clear sight area and only those parts of the field which are covered by some part of each location's combined area for formation of the new areas are observed. These areas, which are more delimited than any of the clear sight areas of the locations are the possible places where the radiation source is situated.<IMAGE> |
