<p>PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance of spheroidal graphite cast iron by surface quenching treatment with high energy heat source, by executing inoculation treatment with silicious inoculant having the specific composition after spheroidizing the graphite by adding a graphite spheroidized treating agent to molten iron. CONSTITUTION:By adding the graphite spheroidizing agent containing Mg as main component and Ca, Si, rare earth element, etc., to the molten cast iron melting and producing steel scrap and iron scrap, etc., as raw material in cupola, low frequency furnace, etc., flake graphite of the cast iron is spheroidized to produce the spheroidized graphite cast iron having excellent ductility and shock resistance, etc. The inoculant having composition of wt.% of 0.05-2.5% B, 30-80% Si, 0.05-0.5% Ti, 0.5-5.0% Mn and the balance Fe is added to the molten cast iron at 0.3-0.6%, to execute the inoculation treatment. The quenching treatment is executed by the high density energy heat source of plasma arc, laser and the other, and the spheroidized graphite cast iron precipitating spheroidized martensitic phase and having wear resistance is obtd.</p> |
