The invention relates to a device for controlling firing for an automatic weapon particularly of small calibre, of the type including a control mechanism which is removable with respect to a breech block 9 having a lower window 10. The device consists of two separate modules, namely: a first module 1 including the trigger mechanism integrated within a body having an upper part of dimensions greater than those of the window 10 of the breech block, provided with a longitudinal shoulder 11 bearing on an internal shoulder 16 of the breech block so as to define an extreme bottom operating position, a second module 2 and a single means 14a, 14b, 14c for locking the two modules to the breech block. The first module 1 includes, integrated into a metal body: a trigger cock 3, a sear hook 4, a sear 5, a spring 6, a safety catch 7, and means for fastening 12 and locking 14a the first module onto the breech block.
