PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having high superconductive critical temperature and excellent stability and useful in the field of electrical power, energy, etc., by baking a mixture of compounds of specific elements and sintering the baked material at a temperature e.g. below the melting point of the powder of the baked material. CONSTITUTION:Powders of oxide or carbonate of (A) an element selected from the group IIa element of the periodic table, (B) an element selected from the group IIIa of the periodic table, (C) one or more elements selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, Si, Ge, etc., and (D) an element selected from the groups I-IIIb and VIII of the periodic table are mixed with each other to obtain a mixture. The atomic ratios of A, B, C and D are selected to satisfy the formula I (x is 0.1-0.9; y is 0.4-1; 1<=z<=5; w is 0.01-0.5). The mixture is prebaked at 700-1,000 deg.C and formed. The formed material is sintered at a temperature below the melting point (Tm) of the powder of the formed material and above Tm-100 deg.C to obtain superconducting material having a crystal particle diameter of <=30mum and having a crystal structure of, e.g. perovskite crystal having a composition of formula (A-D are elements of A-D; E is oxygen; x-y and w are numbers mentioned above). |
