<p>PURPOSE:To enable the execution of a threshold value control corresponding to the environmental conditions of a radar signal with a small storage capacity, by dividing the unit of a small area into two kinds in an apparatus wherein a threshold value is controlled for each unit of the small area and a target is detected under the control. CONSTITUTION:Based on the amplitude value of an input radar signal 5 and a radar target signal 7, a threshold value determination circuit 1 determines and sets the threshold value for a subsequent radar rotation period for each unit of a small area. As to a unit size in a range and bearing of this small area, either one of two kinds of sizes is set on the basis of a clutter index 8 determined by a clutter area determination circuit 2, so that it is small inside a clutter area and large outside the area. A clutter index 9 which is another output of the determination circuit 2 is combined with the threshold value, an output of the threshold value determination circuit 1, and stored into a threshold value storage circuit 3. The threshold value 6 in the storage circuit 3 is read out in the subsequent radar rotation period. An amplitude comparator circuit 4 compares this threshold value 6 held at a certain level with the amplitude data of the radar signal 5, and when the signal 5 is larger than the threshold value 6, it outputs the radar target signal 7 corresponding to the given position.</p> |
