POLYPEPTIDE, DNA AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a protein-phosphorylation enzyme (C-kinase) containing an amino acid sequence of formula and effecting intracellular transmission of an extracellular signal through phosphorylation of protein. CONSTITUTION:C-kinase originated from the brain of a rat is purified and an amino acid sequence of the enzyme is determined. A DNA sequence of a cloned rat C-kinase gene is determined based on the above amino acid sequence. The rat C-kinase gene is cloned and a human C-kinase gene is cloned from a human cell using the cDNA of the cloned rat C-kinase gene as a DNA probe. A recombinant DNA containing the gene is constructed and a cell transformed with the DNA is cultured to produce human C-kinase.
