<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to precisely correct an oblique movement by operating a plurality of load applying means arranged in a direction orthogonal to the sheet conveying direction on the upstream side of a sheet conveying means, in accordance with an oblique movement of a sheet detected by a sheet detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 10 from a cassette is fed into a conveying means 1 through a conveying path by load rollers 5, 6 which are driven by a motor 19 and which are in such a condition that electromagnetic clutches 7, 8 are engaged. Further, the leading end of the sheet 10 is detected by sheet detecting means 13, 15 each composed of a CCD, and at this time, if an oblique movement detecting circuit 21 determines an oblique movement of the sheet 10, a control means 20 stops the motor 19 and disengages the electromagnetic clutch 7 or 8 on the side on which the leading end of the sheet delays. With this arrangement, the preceding side of the sheet 10 slips between a conveying roller 2 and a pinch roller, greater than that of the posterior side thereof so that the delaying side of the sheet is alone advanced to correct the oblique movement. Thus, it is possible to precisely correct an oblique movement.</p> |
