PURPOSE:To objectively and correctly identify a food by picking up the image of the food in which a single type or plural types are mixed, binarizing the brightness of color of a picture element obtained from a constant block area and identifying the food according to the number of the picture elements of one value. CONSTITUTION:The image of the food such as a dried vegetable V in which the single type or the plural types are mixed is picked up by the camera 3, the brightness of color obtained from the constant block area by a window setting circuit 13 is numerated, for instance, binarized by a level S preset by a level setting circuit 11, and the type of the food inquestion is identified by the number of the picture elements of one value. Thereby, the type of the dried vegetable difficult to identify correctly by a naked eye can be clearly identified according to the relative comparison of the number of the picture elements. |
