An anti-panic closure device for an emergency exit includes a transverse manipulating bar between two levers pivoting in boxes fixed to the leaf. A first box contains a lock bolt control for closing the leaf, actuated by the pivoting of the corresponding lever. The second box 1 contains an active locking mechanism for preventing fraudulent opening of the leaf. The lever 2 includes a nose 22 which raises a slide 5 with vertical travel, counter to the action of a spring 57. A lock 4 in the form of an angle bracket is mounted so as to pivot about a horizontal pin 41. One branch of the angle bracket 40a is pushed into the horizontal position by a fork 31 integral with a core plunger 30 of an electromagnet 3 when the latter is excited. When the branch 40a is horizontal, the angle bracket branch 20b is vertical and places a strut 42 in the path of a bearing surface 53 of the slide 5, thus preventing the latter from rising and preventing the lever 2 from pivoting. In order to free the operation of the anti-panic closure in the case of an accident it is sufficient to deactivate the electromagnet 3. <IMAGE>
