PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of electric chargeability due to preexposure fatigue of a photosensitive body by using a specified polymer or copolymer as the binder of a layer containing a charge generating material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body is formed by successively laminating on a conductive substrate 3 a charge generating layer 1 and a charge transfer layer 2, and the layer 1 contains the charge generating material, such as azo pigments, and the polymer or copolymer of the monomer represented by formula I in which R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H or alkyl; R3 is H or aryl; each of R4 and R5 is H, alkyl, etc.; X is -(CH2)n- etc.; and n is 0-10, such as a monomer of formula II, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and reduced in chargeability characteristics even at the time of repeated uses. |
