PURPOSE:To test the amount of alkali accurately in a ready-made concrete, by a method wherein sodium ions and potassium ions are measured simultaneously and, then, degree of effect of the ions is removed on a potential difference of a potassium ion electrode or a sodium ion electrode from the resulting measured values. CONSTITUTION:Sodium ions and potassium ions in a ready-mixed concrete are measured to determine the quantity of alkali therein. In this ion electrode method, the sodium ions and the potassium ions are measured simultaneously and, then, degree of effect of sodium ions is removed on a potential difference of a potassium ion electrode and degree of effect of the potassium ions on a potential difference of a sodium ion electrode from the resulting measured values to determine the quantity of alkali. This enables handy and accurate measurement of R2O in the ready-mixed concrete by a management test at a site where a ready-mixed concrete is cast. |
