PURPOSE:To detect torque applied to a torque transmission shaft by arranging two permanent magnets having numbers of magnetic poles on their circumferences on the torque transmission shaft at a specific interval, and detecting the composite magnetic field of magnetic fields produced by those two permanent magnets. CONSTITUTION:When no torque is applied because of the position relation between the magnetic pole array of the annular magnets 7 and 8 and an amorphous magnetic material ribbon 10, the N poles and S poles of the annular magnets 7 and 8 face each other, so when one terminal of the amorphous magnetic material 10 faces an N pole of the annular magnet 8, the other terminal of the amorphous magnetic material 10 faces an N pole of the annular magnet 8. The shaft 1 rotates and the N poles and S poles face both ends of the amorphous magnetic material 10 alternately. When torque is applied to the shaft 1, the magnetic poles of the annular magnets 7 and 8 shifts position corresponding to the value of the torque owing to the torsion of the shaft 1 and a difference in magnetic position between both ends of the amorphous magnetic material 10 is generated. |
