FORMER FOR FORM, FILL AND SEAL PACKAGING MACHINE A form, fill and seal apparatus ¢10! for producing flexible containers having fitments ¢13! located at one end of the container. The invention provides a former ¢12! for folding into a tubular shape a substantially flat web of film ¢11! with attached fitments ¢13!. The former ¢12! includes a substantially V-shaped member ¢30!, an elongated member ¢32! secured to the V-shaped member ¢30!, and a U-shaped member ¢36!. The V-shaped member ¢30!, elongated member ¢32!, and U-shaped member ¢36! cooperate to fold the substantially flat web of film ¢11! to bring opposite longitudinal portions thereof into aligned relationship. |
