1-A-1-B-3-(2-R2-4-N-R-N-R1-aminophenyl)-3-(-4-R3-phenylsulfonyl)prop-1 -ene useful as color formers, particularly in transfer imaging, pressure-sensitive and thermal-responsive carbonless duplicating systems, are prepared by the interaction of the corresponding 1-A-1-B-ethene with the appropriate 2-R2-4-N-R-N-41-benzaldehyde and the appropriate 4-R3-benzenesulfinic acid in the presence of an acidic catalyst.
