The invention relates to a ventilation method in which fresh air is introduced and/or removed into or out of rooms by means of an airflow-regulating apparatus provided in a duct. In the method, fresh air is introduced or room air removed by means of said duct and said regulating apparatus through openable and closable regulating flaps or the like in the regulating apparatus, and smaller quantities of air through a regulating-apparatus section providing a constant quantity of air, at least when the said regulating devices provided for the flow of a larger quantity of air are closed. In the method, the admission into the room and removal from the same of the desired small quantity of fresh air, and also the introduction of a larger quantity of air, is made possible when the outside-air conditions are favourable. The invention also relates to a device according to the invention.
