The invention relates to an ultrasonic sensor for building on at locations, preferably vehicles, which are exposed to low temperatures. The invention consists in this case in assigning the sensor a heating device which can be regulated, for example, as a function of the temperature at the mounting station, thus preventing the sensor from becoming iced up or snowed over, and thereby preventing the sensitivity or functionality from being impaired.
