Long-established conventional processes for controlling an edge layer treatment (heat treatment) of bodies, in particular metallic bodies, control only the composition of the atmosphere in the treatment recipient. A new process permits ''in situ'' determination of the edge layer condition in terms of its characteristic phase composition by measurement of electromagnetic quantities. For this purpose, the temperature-dependent complex immitance is measured continuously throughout the edge layer treatment. Edge layer treatment, in particular heat treatment.
|
