<p>In a process and device for carrying out chemical processes under pressure, the pressure is produced hydrostatically by conveying the reaction mixture for example through a pipe (2) to a reactor (4) standing on the floor (3) of a mine shaft. The reactor may be of any conventional type. The pressure is a function of the depth of the shaft on the length of the pipe and, naturally, of the weight of the reaction mixture. In addition to mine shafts, the process and device can be used on mountains, at certain ocean depths, or in inland lakes, for example on drilling barges.</p> |
