<p>An assembly for use with tree logging or cutting machines of the loader, forwarder type, etc., which are provided with a crane. The assembly is intended to be mounted on the boom or jib of the crane and includes a gripper (10; 76) for gripping around a tree trunk during a tree felling, delimbing and loading operation. Arranged adjacent the gripper is a saw tool (24, 78) for slashing the trunk when felling the tree and dividing the same into lengths. The assembly includes a delimbing tool (40, 80) having knives (44, 46, 50) which are intended to embrace the tree trunk and delimb the same. The delimbing tool (40, 80) and the gripper (10, 76) are movable relative to one another in the axial direction of a trunk located in the gripper, such as to delimb the trunk and to move the trunk. This movement of the trunk is effected alternately with the aid of the gripper (10, 76) and the delimbing tool (40, 80). When only the gripper (10, 76) is to be used, the knives (44, 46) of the delimbing tool are moved out of the working path of the gripper.</p> |
